Monday, March 13, 2006

It is with deep sorrow, we inform you that Mr. Sithampari Pushparajah, one of the pioneers of the Eelam Struggle, a Tamil writer in exile, the author of "My witness on Eelam fight", and an active member of "Literary meeting" passed away on the morning of 10 March 2006 at 9:30 a.m. in a hospital near his home in Paris. He was fifty-four years of age, and lived in Paris with his wife Meera, and children, Geethanjaly, Vithuran, Thuronan, and Veeshman. His writing in exile was against the tyranny of the caste system within the Tamil community, social injustice and all forms of violence. After the assassination of Mr. Sabalingam in France, Pushparajah formed a circle of Sabalingam's friends and published an anthology, "Thottuththaan povomaa". We express our sincere sympathies to his family and friends. The departure of Mr. Si. Pushparajah is a great loss to us but the outstanding contribution he made will remain, be remembered and appreciated.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, 14 March 2006, from 12:30 to 14:45.
